How Do Claude and AI Agents Work With Edits?
Edits for Mac includes an MCP server, which lets AI agents like Claude use the app's editing tools directly. You can ask Claude to add captions, titles, overlays or sound effects, and it makes the changes inside your Edits project. This is the first time Instagram's own editor has opened up to outside AI agents.
Instagram's head of product for Edits, Matthew Simari, told The Verge that the desktop app includes an MCP for its tools. Gulf News also reported support for connected agents, including Meta's own Muse.

Windows users can't install Edits for Mac, and Meta hasn't announced a Windows release date. Your options are to use the Edits phone app, run the Android app through an emulator as an unofficial workaround, or use another editor that already supports Claude on Windows. The emulator route does not include the desktop MCP features.
